> Been giving a try to XWiki 3 or 4 years ago, experience was painfull: tedious install, very slow learning curve (use and administration), poor performance (server side), UI was... huh... ok. Today try is definitely different: docker deployment is blazing easy and fast, learning by experiment is definitively better, user and admin ui experience is way better... kudos! Use case: friend of mine wanted kinda participative / collaborative website between sharepoint and blog. Not too social oriented, a bit like a CMS, even though not knowing what a CMS actually is... actually, sharepoint like, but for home use, to share with friends: videos, pictures, files, ideas... First try was humhub: not convincing. Today, I think I've found the solution. ;)

> As an aside, I must say that I’m very impressed with XWiki and what it is capable of. It seems like whatever you want to do can be done, there’s usually a setting for it somewhere and really the only challenge is sometimes finding out how.
> You’ve created an extremely capable platform and to be done as an open source project is also hugely commendable. This could have very easily been a closed source product. You’re engaged with the Forum and on the Matrix channel. I have to say that you’re a wonderful example of how a great open source project can be run.

> This is a very old problem. I've been searching for over 30 years to find a reasonable tool that requires minimal programming, let's me build a reasonable UI (a website). I've found many that claim to be what I'm looking for but are not, and even some that are close. But never really what I'm looking for, until now.
...
> Eventually, I came across this tutorial with a catchy name of Creating a FAQ Application (Manual). At some point in the middle, a lightbulb appeared above my head as I realized that this is (almost) exactly what I'm looking for! Not just for this current website, but perhaps also the thing I've been searching for the last 35 years!
...
> XWiki is the first and only tool that does that. And I don't believe mine is a just a narrow use case. The website that I've built with XWiki happens to look a lot like a wiki, but I believe everything I've said here would also apply if it was any generic non-trivial website.

We all know that if documentation is too difficult, it won?t get done (well, it won?t get done even more than it won?t get done if it?s easy.) And this system is EASY to use ? the ability to upload images, the migration from MediaWiki (while was somewhat manual was made easier by the fact that XWiki supports most of the MediaWiki syntax.) All in all, it?s a great system that we look forward to using for years to come!"

tillo 34.1 257 > Our company has been making extensive use of XWiki since 2010. We use it in our core infrastructure, for customer documentation, as a knowledge base and notes taking tool during audit missions, and more. Actually, all of our business procedures make use of XWiki at least once, since they are written in it. It is a very powerful, versatile and user-friendly application that has, in our opinion, no real competitor in the OSS world.
